‘Reiki is love, love is wholeness, wholeness is balance, balance is well-being’ – Dr Usui
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a healing method, developed in Japan early in the 20th century. It is initiated by intention, working on every level, not just physical symptoms. The word Reiki is Japanese, the translated meaning is ‘universal energy’. It works on the principle that energy flows through all living things and is vital to well-being, source energy. Reiki is a holistic therapy, designed to work holistically, restoring and revitalising unbalanced energies and promote a sense of peace and well-being.
What will happen in my session?
In your first session, I will ask you about specific concerns you might like help with, any questions you might have and what benefits you are hoping to achieve.
During the treatment session, you will lie down, fully-clothed on a comfortable table, music and scented oils will be used to create a warm and calm environment. I will then lightly place my hands on various points of the body in a calm and relaxed environment, paying close attention to the pressure points within the body.
The five principles of Reiki
- Just for today, I will not be angry
- Just for today, I will not worry
- Just for today, I will be grateful
- Just for today, I will do my work honestly
- Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing
